It’s time to face the Tatsachen – Sommer is outta here, and while that kinda sucks there are loads of pro’s to look forward. One we’re (Bron’s) pretty stoked about is the return of good old-fashioned marathon stints in dark, sweaty nightclubs. Of which there are a shitload of options this weekend – see below. There’s also a really good reason to venture out to Moabit thanks to FEED – and which we have tickets to! Come at us Berlin – it’s autumnal party zeit :-*
Below are some of the events we are recommending for the week ahead in Berlin. Each of them is either highlighted with a:
Bron loves it! – more electronic, than not.
Lucy loves it! – more indie boy band/ pop vibes/ not techno.
Everyone loves it! – 2.5 words: shit’s ACE
***DISCLAIMER: these aren’t the only discos that are going on – they are just the ones that stand out.
STATTBAD – Bron loves it!
This right here is about as ideal a start to your weekend as you’re going to get. Odd Fantastic – tried and trusted makers of the party – are back at Stattbad and a number of friends are joining them for all sorts of hand-raising house and techno feelings. The Boiler floor hosts Magic Mountain High – that’s Move D and Juju & Jordash (a match made in house heaven) – in one of their improvised lives sets, on the deeper side Aesthetic Audio’s Keith Worthy and someone we keep hearing more and more praise for, Comemé’s Lena Wilikens (tasty teaser over here). Techno – get some in the back room, c/o Australian’s Gardland playing live, alongside Strøm’s Pernille with Odd Fantastic regular Christopher Rau (Smallville) rounding out the bill. Done, done and done.

ZENTRUM FUR KUNST UND URBANISTIK – Bron loves it!
This Sat venture to the north-west corner of the ring for something a little different at Moabit’s Zentrum für Kunst & Urbanistik (ZKU) thanks to curators of clever sound, FEED. This edition sees Transforma – a Berlin-based artist group covering video, performance, installations and music/video – join forces with fellow jack of too many trades, multidisciplinary French artist Yro, to perform the second piece in their three-part collaboration Synthome-Cycle. Titled Bsynthome, we’re told the aim is ‘exploring dynamic interrelationships and cycles within a fictitious system’ – which if this preview, coupled with the former railway depot setting of ZKU sounds like a nice way to unsettle your Samstag abend. After they’ve made you think/feel, it’s after-party zeit, and Shackleton will be leading the charge with a live set, alongside FEED residents Jon Schmidt and Neil Flynn.
Tickets are €10, doors at 21:00 and Moabit is really not as far away as you’d think (are we the only ones who didn’t realise this?!) – make an evening of it! Still not convinced? :
Thanks to the lovely team behind FEED we’ve got 1×2 guest list spots up for grabs for free/kostenlos/gratis. Bitte! To win: simply flick this post a like (up top or down the bottom – choices!) and email email@example.com by Saturday 12pm. with the subject “Feed (me)”. Too einfach.
://ABOUT BLANK – Bron loves it!
With the departure of summer and festival off-season, comes the return of a ridiculously crowded Berlin club calendar, with this Sat/Sund being a prime example. Amongst far too many choices, if 20hours of fine housey flavours from a selection of seriously good DJs sounds like your ticket, you’ll be wanting to head to Get Deep’s 5th Birthday at ://about blank. Motor City Drum Ensemble (a highlight two weeks back at Dimensions Festival), Francis Inferno Orchestra, Damiano von Eckert, Max Graef, Toshiya Kawasaki and loads more. There’s a stupidly high chance of the entire 20 hours of this party being epic – pack your dancing shoes and get ready to get wrapped up in feel good.
