What’s Up Weekend? 6 – 12 August 2015

After a festival-induced hiatus we’re back on strong Berlin vibes this early August and damn is that Berlin vibe strong. Get balls deep in a dancefloor that suits your flavour, from weekend-long escalation at Neukölln’s rising and rising favourite, Griessmuehle, to a cheeky Sonntag open air at Else and all the sweaty indoors you could hope for in between. It’s also – still – going to be really damn heiss. NO COMPLAINTS HERE.

Below are some of the events we are recommending for the week ahead in Berlin. Each of them are either highlighted with a:

Bron loves it! – more electronic, than not.
Lucy loves it! – more pop vibes/ not techno.
Everyone loves it! – 2.5 words: shit’s ACE and/or edible.

GRIESSMUEHLEBron loves it!

We’re filing this one under Freitag, however if you like your wochenendes non-stop then this is totally up your Strasse, as shit right here will kick on all weekend and then some. Oh jaaaa. Neukölln’s increasingly popular Sonnenallee outlier with all the right outdoor vibes is throwing another set of back to back parties, with the Friday arm coming via early evening market, Mühlenmarkt, and moving into late night feels c/o Mother’s Finest featuring Tessela, Hodge, Franklin De Costa and more. As the weekend rolls on, catch the Mother’s Finest after hour, followed by Decipher Language feat. Cristian Vogel, The Analogue Cops, Juniper, Hinode, Regen and more and a Decipher Language after hour, until things shut down. For those looking for that small festival vibe, without (really) stepping outside the ring.

TRESORBron loves it!

Really, the last thing on our minds following a 37 degree day is entering into an underground dancefloor HOWEVER, there’s a time and a place for diving balls deep into a vibey inferno and well, this Fullpanda showcase could very well be it. Taking over all three floor’s of the Köpenickerstrasse behemoth, this Freitag in Tresor is ridiculous qualität featuring on the main floor Donato Dozzy (live),  Dasha Rush (live,), Stephanie SykesYuka and Pulse One. Upstairs in Globus, there’s no loosening of the techno reigns, with a live set from Dadub and Lars Hemmerling, and DJ sets from Cio D’Or and RYBA. Rounding things out – wander into +4Bar for live sets from FjäderMaterial Object and Rasmus Hedlund. It’s probably not for the faint hearted, however this sweat fest should be more than worth it. Tip: get there early. It’s peak techno tourist season.

ELSEBron loves it!

Amongst a plethora of open airs this sunny as fuck Sonntag, this one gets our pick for ease of location, schön setting, non-stop day-time hand raisers and for being a Swiss-bred party brand. And well the Swiss are just generally really really good at things, oder? Following on from parties in Zurich and Barca, Sunday Breakfast comes to the DE this weekend and they’ll be laying down 12+ hours of goodness on Else’s al fresco dancefloor c/o Guti (live), BaremLivio & RobyAlexkid (live), PrasleaJulian PerezSandro Kuhne and more. Kicking off at midday, this is your pick for completing your weekend on a high with all the right open air feels.

About BRON

Bron writes on all things techno. If there's a party at the club, she is probably there - with fiddy and all the gang. She also likes gluten free bread (because she can't eat wheat) and wine.
