You’d think that between Nachtdigital and Dekmantel – oh, and Lucy in Turkey (!) – that things would be a little quiet on the Berlin front this wochenende – but dayummm this is far from richtig. From dancing all night for a good cause on Fri to more of those ideal open air feelings from FLY-Watergate on Sund, this weekend is looking kinda perfect and quite the reward for those not on a bus/train/plane outta here. Haupstadt kisses XX
Below are some of the events we are recommending for the week ahead in Berlin. Each of them is either highlighted with a:
Bron loves it! – more electronic, than not.
Lucy loves it! – more indie boy band/ pop vibes/ not techno.
Everyone loves it! – 2.5 words: shit’s ACE
***DISCLAIMER: these aren’t the only discos that are going on – they are just the ones that stand out.
PRINCE CHARLES – Bron loves it!
Get your wochenende off to a dancey AND do-good start with the return of It’s Bigger Than to Prince Charles. Celebrating their second anniversary, the Berlin-based non-profit initiative organise a pretty great thing – an ongoing series of parties with killer line-ups where all door money raised goes to helping Syrian refugees displaced by civil war. They’ve managed to raise over 10k for their charity of choice, Mercy Corps, so far (linda awesome hey?), and with our help can keep adding to that, with dancefloor assistance this Fri from Dana Ruh, Palms Trax, Tim Xavier, Deepchild, Markus (Oye) and Full-Nelson. Oh hiya. Dancing AND helping those less fortunate – this is the one.
Also worth checking out:
BERGHAIN / PANORAMA BAR – Bron loves it!
It’s summer, the Berghain garden’s open, and your line-up this 30hour+ Sat/Sund is looking ganz delicious – you’ll be glad you’ve stuck around Berlin. Keeping things techno – the main floor this wochenende will be taken over by DJ Pete, Shifted, Radio Slave, Kareem (live) (zhark), Mike Shannon und mehhrr. Upstairs and/or in the Garten – you’ll be feeling all the feelings c/o Axel Boman, Max Graef (live) (sample this beautiful release from earlier this year for a taste), San Soda, Stefan Goldmann, Baikal und noch mehr. What festivals?!
Also worth checking out:
RUMMELSBURG – Bron loves it!
If anything like last weekend’s madness, this next party in FLY-Watergate‘s 2014 open air season should be one hell of a good time. A five part series this summer, FLY-Watergate sees Watergate join forces with a number of much-loved labels (along with hosting a few parties themselves) to throw al fresco parties at Berlin’s vibiest outdoor setting – Rummelsburg, a magical little river side spot, out East, along the Spree. This round – it’s a Diynamic takeover, with both stages in store for all sorts of vibes c/o the Hamburg-based label. Leading the charge will be Solomun (naturlich) who will be joined by most of the fam – H.O.S.H, David August (live), Stimmung (live), Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Adriatique and even more providers of all those good emotions. On top of all of that, for those with no care for Mondays, they’re also doing an afterparty. Details on the Diynamic Afterhour at Watergate, are over here.
*Bonus Extra – tips for a good day!*: hold onto to your iPhone; don’t jump in the Spree; don’t jump in the Spree with your iPhone.
