What’s Up Weekend? 26 February – 4 March

This weekend we’re all about kick starting things a day early with a smorgasboard of ganz lecker parties this Thursday abend. Moving past Thursday, Saturday is also looking like all sorts of ridiculous vibes. Put on your dancing shoes, make party. XX

Below are some of the events we are recommending for the week ahead in Berlin. Each of them is either highlighted with a:

Bron loves it! – more electronic, than not.
Lucy loves it! – more indie boy band/ pop vibes/ not techno.
Everyone loves it! – 2.5 words: shit’s ACE.

***DISCLAIMER: these aren’t the only discos that are going on – they are just the ones that stand out.

PRIVATCLUB – Everybody loves it!

We’re super excited for the return of Lucy vs. the Globe favourites, Breton, to Berlin this Mittwoch abend! Touring the freshly released War Room Stories, tonight they’ll be showcasing plenty of goodness from their second full length – which has received all sorts of praise (justified) and is a delicious listen. This show is also a little extra special too, with War Room Stories having been recorded here in Berlin in an old east-German Funkhaus (radio station, Leute). Get around that/them!

PRINCE CHARLES – Everybody loves it!

Berlin party makers Friends of Friends return this evening, to present a totally tasty offering at Prince Charles and good reason to kick start your weekend a day early. Leading the charge will be American duo Teengirl Fantasy, who are on a Euro tour and likely throw all sorts of experimental everything our way, if their Nun EP, this Dummy mix and recent freebie, TonBase, are anything to go by. They’ll be joined by locals on ze rise, Dance on the Tightrope, who we’re getting around thanks to this new-ish lush number, and Sway Clarke II, another Berliner and man behind this lovely heart-melter (featured in our Valentines Playlist).

Oh hihi! We’ve got 1×2 guest list to give away, yeahhhh we do. To win, head over to the Lucy vs. the Globe Facebook page. We’re not even forcing you to be creative this week! Totes einfach.

** You have until 3pm (15:00) Donnerstag to enter.

O2 WORLD – Everybody loves it!

If you follow Lucy or I (Bron) on any platform, you’ll probably have a slight inkling of our appreciation of Drake. (You just know we died when Drake Shake appeared). And drizzy gon pay it, the great man is in Berlin! This may well be the most expensive gig we’ve big upped in What’s Up Weekend, however if you find yourself with a spare €50+, shit’s not yet sold out! Get all around a stadium show and all the hitz. We wish we were joining you (Drake??).

STATTBAD – Bron loves it!

Established London crew Tief are heading to Stattbad this Samstag for their first party in Berlin, and true to the calibre of past parties in their home town, they’ve pulled together an impressive bill for their debut in the DE. Leading the charge will be the now-Edinburgh based Berliner, Prosumer, who alone is guarantee of a great time. But wait – so much more! He’ll be joined by Ukranian master Vakula, the rising and rising Leon Vynehall, techno mainstay Adam X, Tief’s Hesseltime, Locked’s Dean Driscoll, Trouble Vision’s Mr Solid. Gold and resident Viktoria. Across the Boiler and Bunker floors, this should be a great party.

About BRON

Bron writes on all things techno. If there's a party at the club, she is probably there - with fiddy and all the gang. She also likes gluten free bread (because she can't eat wheat) and wine.
