Another wochenende, another bunch of festivals that might be dragging to you to various vibey locations around Europe (including Dockville in Hamburg – hit your mate Lucy up if you’re going!). Sticking around Berlin? The rewards are delicious – with techno by Nacht, and the last of FLY-Watergate’s open air feelings by Tag (which you could attend FOR FREE – see below). Kisses! X
Below are some of the events we are recommending for the week ahead in Berlin. Each of them is either highlighted with a:
Bron loves it! – more electronic, than not.
Lucy loves it! – more indie boy band/ pop vibes/ not techno.
Everyone loves it! – 2.5 words: shit’s ACE
***DISCLAIMER: these aren’t the only discos that are going on – they are just the ones that stand out.
ANTJE OEKLESUND – Everybody loves it!
Our friends over at no fear of pop are throwing a little party this Freitag abend, and we think this should be the perfect start to your wochenende. They’ll be playing host to three US-bred artists they love – Avalon Emerson, Cherushii & NFOP contributor Experimental Housewife – for dj sets at a venue less frequented in Friedrichshain (and you know we love mixing it up). We’re particularly excited to check out Avalon Emerson – a recent arrival to Berlin who we’re (perhaps a little late to the party on) yet are quickly getting around, thanks to 2013′ Pressure/Quoil this year’s Church of SoMa, and remixes like this Some Ember one. Techno – for those who don’t always techno. All of this will kick off the Freitag freundlich hour of 22:00. See you on the dancefloooorr.
Also worth checking out:
BERGHAIN / PANORAMA BAR – Bron loves it!
It actually doesn’t get better than this. This Sat-Sund-(likely well into) Mond, Berghain goes classic Berghain with Ostgut Ton Nacht, and it will obviously be a big one. Who’s playing? Everyone is your short answer, with the main floor hosting their techno regulars (Marcel Dettman, Ben Klock, Marcel Fengler, Norman Nodge, Boris, Len Faki and more!) while ideal housier feelings unfold upstairs in Panorama Bar & in the Garden (nd_baumecker, Steffi, Virginia, Tama Sumo, Ryan Elliott, Shed as Head High – yes! – and even more). It’s total Ostgut madness and Berghain at it’s very best.
Also worth checking out:
RUMMELSBURG – Bron loves it!
It seems like only yesterday that we were telling your about the upcoming summer season of vibes by way of FLY-Watergate‘s open air series. This Sonntag, it’s closing time (WHERE HAS SOMMER GONE?) and those party starters will be winding out a pretty dreamy run with this final do for the season. It’s predictably a large one, with Jamie Jones, Loco Dice, dOP (live), Tiefschwarz, Tikiman & Scion (live – highly recommended if you’ve never caught them), Steve Bug b2b Marco Resmann und even moreeee. On top of all of these guys – you’ve got Rummelsburg’s totally schön beach meets garden setting that sits alongside the Spree. Perfect! As always, you can buy your Karten in advance on Resident Advisor (and it’s recommended too – for both easier entry and a guaranteed in) and for those with excess energy and no where to be on Montag – head to Watergate for the official afterhour party. Bitteeee.
This is last your last chance Leute. Thanks again to the lovely team at Watergate, we’ve got 2×2 tickets to giveaway! Hiya, kostenlos Partyzeit. To win – just hit this link and follow ze steps. Too easy! You’ve got until Saturday 19:00 to enter.
BERGHAIN KANTINE – Everybody loves it!
It’s a mid-week abend – what are you doing? Fancy something a little less techno and little more feel-good electronic pop? Then you’ll want to get around this. Panama – a five-piece from the otherside of the world (we’re talking Australiaaaa) – are in town as part of their Euro tour and tonight play Berghain’s little sister, Berghain Kantine. A member of the Future Classic fam which also includes Chet Faker, Flume, Ta-Ku, Seekae and other providers of similar emosh vibes, you can probably expect all sorts of their guilty-not-guilty pop feelings – via tracks from their delicious EP’s Always and It’s Not Over. Whatever your flavour, this has mid-week pick-me-up written all over it and we think you should treat yourself. Tickets still available (12€), doors at 20:00, support from local U3000 (live).
