Not quite sure what a UE BOOM is – I’ll tell you. It’s like a portable boom box/ speaker that is LIFE PROOF. Drop it in water, kein ding – still works. Don’t have a cord for connection? KEIN DING – it’s runs on bluetooth ! This object right here is going to save every summer picnic you will ever venture on (if the weather ever turns good) with complete #fashun intentions (it comes in all sorts of sick colours) and…..WE ARE GIVING ONE AWAY !.. Normally these are valued at a cool 199€ – so… YOU’RE WELCOME.

Really – if you don’t enter, I would judge you.

Below are some of the events we are recommending for the week ahead in Berlin. Each of them is either highlighted with a:

Bron loves it! – more electronic, than not.
Lucy loves it! – more indie boy band/ pop vibes/ not techno.
Everyone loves it! – 2.5 words: shit’s ACE

***DISCLAIMER: these aren’t the only discos that are going on – they are just the ones that stand out.

FREITAG – SONNTAG

PLATOON KUNSTHALLE + WARSCHAUER STRASSE – Everybody loves it!

Know as little about Icelandic electronic music as we do? Then let Extreme Chill Festival sort you out! What started as a concert 5 years ago on Iceland’s Snæfellsnes Peninsula (just try and pronounce that), has now grown into a go-to showcase of some of the Nordic land’s best artists (plus a few non-IS friends) – and this year they’re celebrating their half-decade by bringing things south to Berlin. þakka þú mjög mikill! Kicking off Freitag abend at Platoon Kunsthalle and running through to a more chilled sesh on Sunday on Warschauer Strasse, there are plenty of quality names getting involved, including: Thomas Fehlmann (DE), Ruxpin (IS), Stereo Hypnosis (IS), Yagya (IS), Hans Joachim Roedelius (DE), Mixmaster Morris (UK), Futuregrapher (IS) UND MEHRRR. On top of all this goodness, a three-day ticket is only goig to set you back €29 (or €17 per day) – which is bloody bonkers, and probably one of the cheaper festivals you’ll hit all year. Affordable and Icelandic – wir sind da.

And if that still sounds hard, WIN TICKETS! To win simply email win@lucyvstheglobe.com by midday Friday with the subject “Extreme Chill”. Totally einfach.

FREITAG

FARBFERNSEHER – Everybody loves it!..Everyone is going!

One of our favourite, and smallest, dancefloors in Berlin play hosts to another round of Persuasion –  a night with a very high chance of ideal vibes, especially when throwing this round’s guest, Jordan Rothlein, into the mix. Run by Sarj & Will Lynch, we’re told that this 4th of July special (with an all-American line-up,) will be an unpredictable musical journey  – which sounds like a lucky dip. We love a lucky dip. We’re in. Kicking off at 23:00 your added bonus this Americano feierabend is FREI entry before 23:30. Which sounds kinda fruh, but space is super limited here, so getting in early is a great idea. See you on the dfloor.

RUMMELSBURG – Bron loves it!

Summer in Berlin + Open Airs – it’s where all sorts of good feelings are at. And amongst a big open air season, the Fly Watergate series, which we raved about a few weeks back, stands out. Fancy an all-day,  al fresco party, in a magical beach meets forrest setting, with a killer line-up and a ridiculously good-looking crowd? These are your parties. This second round for the 2014 season sees Suol, Mobilee and Watergate themselves join forces to bring you Seth Troxler, Fritz Kalkbrenner (live), Chopstick & JohnJohn b2b Till von Sein, PillowTalk (live) and loads loads mehr. It should be one pretty wild day out, and with all of their parties, we’d suggest getting your ticket in advance. It can be a bit of gamble at the door. Like gambling?

About BRON

Bron writes on all things techno. If there's a party at the club, she is probably there - with fiddy and all the gang. She also likes gluten free bread (because she can't eat wheat) and wine.
