We’ve hardly recovered from accidentally having a massive Easter weekend (hallo, ZERO self-control), however Berlin isn’t handing out any free Pause passes. Get back on it – there are some great parties and gigs on. Kisses! X
Below are some of the events we are recommending for the week ahead in Berlin. Each of them is either highlighted with a:
Bron loves it! – more electronic, than not.
Lucy loves it! – more indie boy band/ pop vibes/ not techno.
Everyone loves it! – 2.5 words: shit’s ACE.
***DISCLAIMER: these aren’t the only discos that are going on – they are just the ones that stand out.

DONNERSTAG
MONARCH – Everybody loves it!
This week’s pick of northern vibes comes from the femmes at Nordic by Nature (obvs), who will be presenting fresh young thangs – Pooma. Straight outta Helsinki, these Finnish babes make a brooding slant of pop – which I (Bron) am getting into. It might be because listening to their album Persuader I feel like I’m transported back into my Buffy (the Vampire Slayer) phase, perhaps (and more likely), they’re just actually quite good. On top of all their tasty Finnish glory, tonight’s event is 100% FREI. Yeah it is! Just RSVP to guestlist@nbnberlin.de and you’ll be laughing (and/or getting emosh).

FREITAG
PRINCE CHARLES – Bron loves it!
After a banging debut back in November and equally vibey second edition with Zed Bias and Brackles in Feb, Locked returns for round 3 tonight at Prince Charles. Created to showcase artists with a UK-influenced sound, this edition sees South London Ordnance make his Berlin debut (we can’t believe he hasn’t played here before?) and Bristol’s Hodge, sometime half of Outboxx, other times killing it with bombs like this. Rounding things out as always will be Locked residents Uta and Dean Driscoll.
**AND: Win Guest List!**
The crew behind Locked have kindly given us 1 x 2 guest list places to giveaway. Now there really are no excuses! Just shoot us an email at hey@lucyvstheglobe.com before 12pm on Friday to be in ze running.
AND AND: Hold on, wait, want to kick things off earlier? Of course you do! After a kleine Easter Pause, the T Room Sessions are back doing their weekly thang – their thang being a chilled, weekend starter featuring mostly local DJs, a local crowd and a feed (last edition’s chilli con carne was totally lecker). Keeping it classy this week will be Christian Vance, Sara Miller, Gene Siewing & Shift Ltd Soundsystem. Doors at 20:00, entry is free until 23:00.

FREITAG – SAMSTAG
RADIALSYSTEM V – Everybody loves it!
On the more intimate festival front, comes Berlin’s second edition of Denovali Swingfest (run by crew behind Denovali Records) this Fri and Sat at Spree-side arts space, Radialsystem V. Focussing on more experimental artists and gig-length sets, the super limited capacity showcase (400 seats per night) will this year host 10 acts including Brand Brauer Frick (DE), Murcof (Mexico), Oneohtrix Point Never (US), Greg Haines and more. This should be a great chance to catch a variety of eclectic artists, in a pretty special (and chilled) setting. Tickets look to still be available – info over here.

FREITAG – MONTAG
://ABOUT BLANK – Bron loves it!
What’s happening this weekend at ://about blank could also probably be classed as a festival. Running from Friday through to sometime on Mond the Friedrichshain party-den will play host to 40+ hours of music, with the Sat – Mond leg being non-stop. Which isn’t an entirely uncommon thang to the home of the minimum 22hour Homopatik parties – however it’s still a bloody load of dancing. With a event description that only native Deutschers could possibly understand – what we’ve been able to conclude is that: 1. this is their 4th bday celebration (alles gute!), 2. it’ll be an inside and outside affair, 3. Friday night they’ll be putting on a concert and 4. Parts 2 and 3 are what we’re most int0 and will include Die Vögel (live), Prosumer, Inigo Kennedy, Alex.Do, Samuli Kemppi (live) and loads loads more. 15€ one night, 20€ whole weekend, 10€ sunday – get around it.
