What’s Up Weekend? 21 – 27 April 2016

SHARE ME:

While it’s still far too cold for late April, there’s no denying a summer wibe is in the air and arghhhh these longer daylight hours! Tap into those summer-is-coming feels this WE with a weekend-long party at ://about blank (and in their Garten!), the latest edition of African Acid is the Future, the debut of hypnotic-techno leaning Patterns of Perception and so much more.

Below are some of the events we’re into over the weeks ahead. They’re marked with either:

Bron loves it! – more electronic, than not.
Lucy loves it! – more indie boy band/ pop vibes/ not techno.
Everyone loves it! – 2.5 words: shit’s ACE and/or edible.

WOCHENENDE-LANG

://ABOUT BLANKBron loves it!

://about blank are turning 6 and they’re throwing a suitably bananas weekend-lang extravaganza to celebrate. Kicking off Fri eve and running until sometime Mond, their 6th birthday will include multiple floors of non-stop music including day times in their super schön Garten (one of our top dancefloors in summer),  DJs, live acts, film screenings, karaoke, snacks, smoothies, massages and the real kicker FAIRY FLOSS. They’re going all out. Musically the line-up is ridiculous and includes Kassem Mosse live, Call Super, Dr. RubensteinDelta Funktionen,Midnight Operator live, Elisabeth, Mix Mup, Resom, Paramida, Perm live, Anja Zaube, and really so many more. Check out the full line-up here. Cheaper weekend-long tickets in advance via RA, or purchase weekend or day ticket on the door.

OHM – Bron loves it!

Fancy a techno start to you weekend? Head to OHM where the debut edition of Patterns of Perception will be taking place on the Tresor neighbour’s cosy dancefloor. A club night “seeking to explore the deep, hypnotic side of techno” (their words – we’re into it), the event comes to us from OPAL, the collective that brought the popular Thai and Techno series to Berlin. For this first edition, they’ll welcome Italian DJs Marco Shuttle and natural/electronic.system, alongside up-and-comers Kim BergstrandSteve DuncanHysteria and Andreas Maan (who collectively make up the Patterns of Perception team). Doors at 22:00, 8EUR entry.

LOFTUS HALLBron loves it!

It’s been a while since I’ve heard so many Leute raving about the same new party, and this Samstag we’re excited to finally check all those ideal vibes for ourselves with the 5th edition of African Acid Is The Future at Maybachufer’s Loftus Hall. Beyond a rad and totally enticing name, we’re told the night should take us “On an acid trip around afro rythms, travelling from Nigeria, Ethiopia, Congo to Ghana, cruising on electronic sounds, cosmic rythmic, psychedelic vibrations.” Which sounds completely up our Strasse and welcome variety. This round’s line-up will play host to James Dean Brown and the Barras Brothers, alongside residents Maryisonacid and Wolfonacid aka Rouge Mécanique. Doors at 23:00, and if previous events popularity is anything to go by our tip would be to get there early.

About BRON

Bron writes on all things techno. If there's a party at the club, she is probably there - with fiddy and all the gang. She also likes gluten free bread (because she can't eat wheat) and wine.
