Taking over the smoking floor of Schwuz, this edition of Room 4 Resistance will feature residents Doc Sleep (Jacktone Records, R4R), LMGM (La Mission, R4R) and Luz – R4R (R4R) and follow the same great ethos: being a party dedicated to diversity – of musical styles, sexualities, ethnicities, bodies – that aims to feature women, queers, transpeople, and people of colour in leadership roles, without limiting to those categories. On the other floors for this edition of Hot Topic “Politics and Music” you’ll find Queer-Pop from LCavaliero & Viola, Lennox, Krizzi with the and Rock from trust.the.girl., Karina & Exildiscount. Following their debut party last month at OHM, Patterns of Perception are not fucking around with their follow-up edition with residents Andreas Maan, Hysteria, Kim Bergstrand and Steve Duncan being joined by Belgian techno don, Peter van Hoesen. Hihiii! Not stopping there, they’ll also be joined Serbian Yuka, known for releases on Fullpanda and Silent Season and acid-laden groovier techno. Throw in one of Berlin’s better dancefloors for heavier sounds, and this should be quite the party.

TRESOR – Bron loves it!
Following on from last night’s round eins, RBMA are back for the second of two vibey numbers this weekend, with Sunday night’s affair heading towards techno with an experimental slant. Kicking off at the Sonntag-night-freundlich hour of 21:00, expect live sets from Magic Mountain High aka Move D and Juju & Jordash (Off Minor/ DE, NL), TIN MAN (Acid Test, Killekill/ AT), SØS Gunver Ryberg (Contort/ DK) and Hiele (Ekster/ Antwerp) alongside DJ sets from Rrose (Eaux/ UK), Abdulla Rashim (Prologue, Semantica/ SE) and Refracted (Mind Express/ DE). It’s an all killer no filler kinda affair. Get their early to make the most of this offering.
MAUERPARK – Everybody loves it!
As has now become a Berlin Fête de la Musique tradition, Red Bull Music Academy are again throwing a giant fiesta in one of Berlin’s favourite parks and the whole thang – in the spirit of Fête de la Musique – is for FREE / KOSTENLOS / GRATIS. As far as free concerts go, things don’t get much better with a mini-festival offering running from 16:00 until 22:00, and featuring: Stormzy (live), Lil B (Live), Lady Leshurr (Live), Dj Rafik (DJ Set) Jacob Korn (Live) and Sevdaliza (Live). On top of all that, the event is barrier-frei which means that you can choose between tapping into the bars selling red bull concoctions around the park or BYO.
Still kicking when the park winds up? Head to the official after party and third event in RMBA’s clubnight series (following the weekend’s events). This will take place at Ipse and features Paranoid London (live), Svengalisghost (live), Tiger and Woods, Kornél Kovács and more. It’s definitely a vibier-than average Dienstag.
VARIOUS – FETE DE LA MUSIQUE – Everybody loves it!
Beginning in France in 1982 as a free celebration of musical diversity, Fête de la Musique has grown into a worldwide party held annually on Summer Solstice (June 21st), with something like 520 cities worldwide participating (41 in Deutschland alone). Yep, really! Berlin is obviously well into this, and as with previous years loads of clubs are getting involved with free events, throughout both Tag and Nacht, showcasing music for all tastes. This year’s free selection includes parties at: Mauerpark (see above), Gretchen (their Block Party is usually one of the best picks), Suicide Circus, IPSE, ELSE and loads more. Our suggestion? Try to get out of work early, grab your Fahrrad and cruise around – with so many clubs opening their doors and gardens for free this is a great chance to check out places and DJs you haven’t seen before, in the sun (maybe) at your own pace. Get around those global celebration feelings.
