SPOT FESTIVAL: Matthias from c/o pop’s Top 5

SHARE ME:

Twice in a week – GET OUTTA HERE. SPOT Festival is almost here, and today we are saying HI to our mate Matthias. On a day-to-day basis you will find old mate booking bands and poppin’ air pistols at/ with the good people at c/o pop a pseudo 5 day marathon of live events and party vibes in Cologne – the happiest place in Germany.

When Matthias isn’t bro’ing out with bands and being an all-round nice guy he is probably rolling ciggies better than you, because actually @steffinbn has an Instagram of this – and it’s remarkable, engaging in the age old debate of laces vs. velcro and/or making friends with strangers – because people of Cologne do this; they are just like the Irish but German.

To recap – this year I’m jumping on a bus from Berlin to the great Danish city of Aarhus for SPOT Festival. As a result of this, I have asked a few of my favourite Germans to get me their top 5 artists that will be appearing at said festival.

So – let’s get on with it. Say “Hallihallo Matthais”, this is the 3rd instalment of our “5 Favourites from our Favourites for Spot” (if anyone can think of a catchier title – I’d be grateful).

AV AV AV

Their Song „All Good“ instantly makes me want to dance. This might be already one of the best dance-tunes of 2015 for me. Looking forward to see them live and hear more songs.

AURORA

I’ve been at her show at Eurosonic Norderslag and after seeing her cover „Life on Mars?“ from David Bowie i fell in love with her. Even if Aurora Aksnes is only 18 years old, her appearance was very confident and left everyone in the audience stunned.

BLAUE BLUME

We had them playing our c/o pop Festival last year and their show was one of the best of the festival. So cheesy, so catchy, so good!

Friday 23:00 MUSIKHUSET STORE SAL

SEKUOIA

I really like „Rituals“ from their first EP. You instantly want to move your body to the beat when you listen to his one for the first time. Really good song.

Their show at Eurosonic in a 3D Cinema was amazing and I’m expecting a lot from this band in the future.

YUNG

Playing a style of music in the veins of Bands as Bloody Knees, Shinies, Splashh or Viet Cong, this band totally fits my personal taste. Really looking forward to see them live at Spot Festival.
