SPOT FESTIVAL: Lone from Nordic by Nature’s Top 5

SHARE ME:

Half Danish, half German – if anyone should be heading up this SPOT Festival recommendation list – it’s Lone… So meet her ! By day you are going to find Lone at the Nordic by Nature headquarters in Berlin, blogging her face off about new and exciting music and casually prepping the city/ the general public for Berlin Midsommar Festival over at the Urban Spree on June 19th (GET IT IN YOUR CALENDAR).

When Lone isn’t getting sassy with what’s hot.. and not – she is probably spending entire weekends horizontal, chasin’ dudes (because she 24 and really what else are you doing at 24?) and like every great Dane, trying to figure out if she is actually cold, or did she just not wear the correct clothing :-/

To recap – this year I’m jumping on a bus from Berlin to the wonderful Danish city of Aarhus for SPOT Festival. As a result of this, I have asked a few of my favourite Germans (and part Danes) to get me their top 5 artists that will be appearing at said festival.

So – let’s get on with it. Say a quick “Servus Lone !”, this is the 1st installment of our “5 Favourites from our Favourites for Spot” (if anyone can think of a catchier title – I’d be grateful).

HIT IT.

YUNG

Something sweet turning into rage, Danish Yung’s punk-rock-indie-something music seems kinda bipolar. I guess that’s what I like, besides the hard guitar combined with the raucous voice of course.

Friday 23:00 VOXHALL

BUDTZ

Budtz made me feel mellow from the start, and I nestled myself in on his cloud of Danish R’n’B. Even though the cloud is nice and comfy, I can’t wait to dance it off to Budtz’ music at Spot Festival.

Saturday 16:50 ATLAS

KWAMIE LIV

I’ve been listening to Kwamie Livs ’5 AM ’ for something that feels like forever now. The eletronical music combined with the experiments she is doing with her voice, are wondrous. What I’m trying to say is that she’s got me tangled up quite good.

DÍSA

Dísas music is very Scandinavian (which in my opinion, never is a bad thing). It’s cold yet compelling, and good. That’s really all I need.

SWEET JESUS 17

The name is indicating it and I’ve got a feeling these dudes from Copenhagen are underage. And hot. Best.Combination.Ever. (Only in the world of music, don’t get me wrong here). Besides those facts, the music is really good. Surfy-dreamy longing for summer lo-fi kinda music.

Not scheduled yet.

EXTRAS !

Since I’ve had a hard time deciding, I’m gonna tell you one last thing. No matter what you do, never, ever, ever, miss out on these guys: Asbjørn, Aurora, Blaue Blume, First Hate, Noah Kin, Rangleklods and Sekuoia.
