MELT! FESTIVAL 2015: Bron and Lucy’s Two Part Top 10 !

SHARE ME:

Things that are happening next week? Melt! Festival! And damn are we excited. An amazing setting, a short and schön journey from Berlin, a vibey crowd, what looks set to be 3 perfect summer days AND a line-up that is also nothing short of bananas, with a delicious mix of some of the best electronic artists currently going around, chilled pop vibes, German faves, indie flavours and well, Kylie.

As is now tradition, we’re getting into das Mood with our top 10 (ish) artists that we’re looking forward to catching this weekend. And if you’re going – holler! We’d love to meet you for a beverage/dance. We broke this one down into a two part series, PART II will be coming to you next week.. At some point.. We hope !

You’ll find our running order below. Each of them are either highlighted with a:

Bron loves it! – more electronic, than not.
Lucy loves it! – more pop vibes/ not techno.
Everyone loves it! – 2.5 words: shit’s ACE.

See you soon, Ferropolis.

FREITAG

NOZINJA – Everyone loves it !

Things I’m excited about – Nozinja. Having seen the great man and his dancers last year (?) I can safely say this will be, or at the very least should be, a highlight to your festival. I’m not entirely sure how it will translate to the big stage atmosphere – but I am excited by the possibilities.

Desperados Melt! Selektor | 20:00 – 20:45

BILDERBUCHEverybody/Germany loves it!

Somewhat of a shout out to the adopted homeland. I actually couldn’t really care about catching Bilderbuch in action, but the young guys out of Austria are a hot ticket item among my Deutscher counter parts, so there’s gotta be something in that, right? If you speak German, or like a good bit of the pop/rock’ish vibes – this might be right up your Straße.

Mainstage | 20:30 – 21:30

JAMIE XX – Everyone loves it !

The great man is at Melt! Do I need to harp on about this any further? Probably. Confession’s from the morbidly obsessed: his latest album has been on daily rotation since it came out – DAILY. So, I literally couldn’t be any more stoked to catch him live in action. I’m hoping for a few friend cameo’s on stage – but this isn’t Coachella, nor are we at a Taylor Swift concert. So probably I need to manage those expectations.

Desperados Melt! Selektor | 20:45 – 22:45

NILS FRAHM – Everybody loves it!

Whether you’ll be catching Nils for the first time or this is your 2nd, 3rd, 4th + count, you’re guaranteed a case of the schönest feels this first night on Melt!’s main stage with this extremely talented piano maestro. On top of material from 2013’s Spaces, we’re expecting a few pieces from 2015’s soundtrack to film Victoria and solo piano album, Solo, hopefully a couple of extended improvisations and a whole lot of welled-up eyes. Shit’s about to get emotional.

Mainstage | 01:00 – 02:00

CLARK – Bron loves it!

If Clark gives us anything like his set at London’s Field Day last month we’re in for a treat. Backed by two totally mesmerising dancers, his show mostly showcasing last year’s epic self-titled full length was a ravey, fist-pumping delight and I’ve been hanging out for another hit since.

Desperados Melt! Selektor | 02:15 – 03:25
