The Garden Festival 2015: Dreaming of Croatia, already

SHARE ME:

With Glühwein season long gone, it’s safe to say that the novelty of winter has more than worn off and we’re completely preoccupied with planning summer 2015. One of the plans we’re (Bron’s) most excited about? A return to Croatia: Eastern Europe’s Adriatic Coast-hugging gem that on top of sun and sea, also plays host to a significant chunk of Europe’s best electronic music festivals.

In a crowded calendar (we’re talking a festival a week here, from June to Sept), sitting up the top of that list for location / musical curation / crowd / the summeriest of feel-good vibes, sits the one that kickstarted the whole thang, The Garden Festival, who this July will be celebrating their 1oth and final year.

We’re going – and you could join us, for free! Read on…

Kicking off in 2006, Garden has long established itself as the go-to for Croatian beachside lazing by Tag, banging Garden parties by nacht with a whole host of vibey boat parties and after do’s (namely at their open air club, Barbarella’s) in between. The organisers have really nailed their thing – with a loyal crowd coming back each year (both punters and players alike) for this intimate 7-day (7!) affair on the Dalmatian Coast.

This year’s 10th and final line-up is predictably delicious and features a whole host of Garden friends and fam known for, top-level party-starting, including:

Ben UFOBonobo, Talaboman (and John Talabot & Axel Boman solo), Gerd JansonGreg Wilson,  JackmasterJoy OrbisonMidlandTim SweeneySeth Troxler,  Crazy P (live), Darshan Jesrani (Metro Area), DJ HarveyEats EverythingNightmares on Wax (live), Optimo, Palms Trax, Psychemagik, Craig Richards, Francis Inferno Orchestra, Leon Vynehall, Torando Wallace, Young Marco, Session Victim (live), A Sagittariun (live), Fantastic Man and so many more.

On the crew front, expect parties from: Resident Advisor, Beats in Space, Futureboogie, Dance Tunnel, Louche, Flux, Studio Barnhus, Renate and loads more.

After parties more your flavour? Garden’s club, Barbarellas, recently announced their program and it’s also all kinds of juicy, with highlights including: Thursday night with Ben UFO, Joy O and Midland, and Resident Advisor’s takeover on Sat with Gerd Janson, Job Jobse and Palms Trax.

Other essential infos:

DATES: 1st – 8th July 2015

LOCATION: The Garden, Tisno, Croatia. This is on the central coast, around an hour north of Split. ie. PARADISE.

TRAVEL: We see two major options here. A) The quick one: find a flight as close as possible to the festival site. Croatia may not be a huge country, but the coastal road is fucking slow. Look for flights into Zadar and Split, at a stretch Rijeka and Zagreb. B) The dreamy one: take in this slow, but ridiculously beautiful coastline and DRIVE! More of an option for the mainland Euro crew – you’re looking at around 13 – 14 hours from Berlin.

ACCOM: On site camping and apartments available, or find an offsite option such as a nearby resort or Air Bnb.  Hit up the Garden Accom team.
