This is Brendon. Hi Brendon. If you live in (take a breath): Amsterdam, Barcelona, Cape Town, Cologne, Frankfurt (Main), Hamburg, Ibiza, London, Munich or Paris – you are probably going to know Beatguide. Beatguide is a web/ mobile platform for electronic music events – and this my friends is the company Brendon co-founded.
Another import, from Australia (we seem to get around), Brendon visited Berlin in 2004 and decided right then and there he would live here. By 2009 that became a reality, and in 2013 he’s founding companies and making it rain techno.
When old mate isn’t involved in all things Beatguide he is probably hating on Australians who techno-tour Europe over summer (or maybe not, because it’s probably good for business), secretly loving Miley Cyrus’ Wrecking Ball but hating Terry Richardson and feeling indifferent about the coming winter because he has been here long enough that he is mostly cool with it.
This year Lucy vs. the Globe was tasked to be a media partner for BerMuDa (Berlin Music Days) – CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. As a result we have asked a few of our nearest and dearest players in the Berlin music scene to get involved and give us their top 5 acts or showcases for the electronic music week known as BerMuDa.
So let’s say another “G’day MATE!” to Brendon from Beatguide (everyone seems to be Australian this time round). The second of 3 of our “Top 3 Music Mates for BerMuDa“.
Wanted to catch Adriatique and Stimming already for a long time. 100% Crowdpleaser. Thumbs up!
Touchy Mob is an incredibly diverse artist that is always playing really emotional shows. He is performing at the ‘Exit Icarus’ event at Gretchen on the 8th. Also he’s from Berlin and I like to support my hometown artists!
Compared to this brutalistic world, Clara brings a much need escape playing joyful and refined beats. Love the fact that her club sets are very different from her usual productions.
Dutch Daniel Zuur is an incredibly talented artist & producer. Really like the special deep & melodic vibe in his live sets. You never get bored see him playing with his gear during a gig…
Sven Weisemann is such a cool dude and diverse producer. Wether you see catch him playing a piano concert or a DJ set Berghain – he knows how to entertain / please his audience. His album “Xine” was a repeat for months, when it came out… Love him!
